The Mark of Athena

The Mark of Athena is a book that is a part of a series by Rick Riordan. The series takes place on Earth, but with mythology incorporated into the storyline. Some protagonists are from Long Island, NY while others are from California. They all travel to the ancient lands, meaning they traveled to Rome and Greece where Greek and Roman mythology originated. There, they have to rescue their friend, find the Athena Parthenos, search for the Doors of Death, close them, and defeat Gaea, the earth goddess.
